Siding Installation
Measurement & Planning
Measure the exterior wall area.
Inspect the existing wall sheathing / framing for rot or damage.
Remove Old Siding (if needed)
Carefully take off old siding.
Dispose or recycle old materials.
Install Underlayment / House Wrap
Apply a weather-resistant barrier.
Add insulation or furring strips if required.
Start with the Starter Course
Install a starter strip at the bottom, making sure it’s level.
Install Siding
Work from bottom to top.
Use correct fasteners (nails/screws) recommended by the siding manufacturer.
Leave space for expansion (especially for vinyl or metal).
Install Trim / Flashing
Add corner pieces.
Trim around windows and doors.
Flash where water might infiltrate (roof intersections, joints).
Finish & Inspect
Cap top panels.
Check alignment, make sure nothing is loose or misaligned.
Seal and caulk where needed.
Cleanup
Remove debris.
Do a final quality check.
